Review component for the seminar

Hi all, Welcome to the seminar! As I mentioned (and as written on the website), part of the grade in the seminar is revieweing a paper/lecture. This means the following: For your assigned review, you need to read the relevant paper, attend the lecture, and write the following: - Paper Overview: in your own words, what does the paper show? What is the contribution, and what are the main technical tools used to achieve it? - Paper Evaluation: what did you think of the paper? What are its strengths and weaknesses? This can refer to existing work (e.g., whether the paper is novel or very incremental), to the technical parts, to the writing level, etc. - Specific comments: did you find anything incorrect? Any major typos or mis-phrases? - Lecture evaluation: how well did the lecture present the paper? Were there major things you think should have been covered but weren't? Were there especially illuminating parts? Did the lecture clarify things that were unclear from the paper? To bound the scope of this assignment: - Please submit it as a txt or md file (by email, to me). - I'm expecting something like 2000-2500 words (this are not strict limits, but if you're very far from it, maybe you're either under- or over- doing it). If something unclear, feel free to ask me. |
