Small change in lab 4
|
In the animation section you may use cubic B-Splines to aproximate the motion, This means that you don't have to use natural cubis splines to interpolate it. |

The end of the semester is near...

First, the presentation of the final lab can be done starting at 20.1 and until the day of the final exam. Should you need extensions, please address Amit. Second, previous exams have been uploaded to the website, and also the FAQ section of lab 4 has been updated. Third, as you plan the courses you wish to take please consider the following: 1) http://www.cs.technion.ac.il/~gershon/seminar10/ A seminar in software development for cellular phones. Preference in registration will be given to students with background in image processing and/or computer graphics. Projects: 2) Projects are a great way to advance in the relatively new field of computer graphics. You can turn to any of the CG professors ( prof. Chaim Gotsman, prof. Gershon Alber, prof. Gil Barequet) and ask them for a project. Or you can contact Mr. Zohar Levi: 3)Computer graphics course project - jigsaw puzzle I am looking for students who are interested in a course project in computer graphics. We are going to scan puzzle pieces to computer images, and devise an algorithm that would match them. zoharl@cs.technion.ac.il |

A few small fixes
|
Please turn to the FAQ section to see it's updates. I would like to emphasize a small mistake that was written: OpenGL automatically calculates normals per face ONLY for backface culling, It does not use thsese normals for shading. Due to this fact, you are not obligated to implement flat shading in this exercise. |

Homework Skeleton fix
|
There was a bug in the homework skeleton, and did not compile on Visual Studio 2008. The skeleton was fixed, and uploaded again. Due to this, the homework deadline is postponed in one day. |

Bug fix and some announcements

- A bug was found in the function calcBarycentricCoords. The fix is in the course material section Please make sure you have the correct version of the funciton!! (Thanks Eran and Abigail) - The VR manual is now available in PDF format. (Thanks Eyal) - Some new questions were published in the FAQ, don't forget to check them from time to time. |

Lab 1 submission is near

The code submission is electrical, but there is a frontal submission as well. You may present your code to us on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. Please mail Amit your preffered day and time, to be registered for a presentation. I would like to note that those of you who present the work before the submission date may change it and resubmit it until the deadline, so it is recommended. Good luck |

A few small corrections

- the exercise definition was fixed: a squere appeared instead of the letter alpha (projection variable) - A "starlike drawing" is mention in the exercise definition - please ignore it, it does not exists (for this exercise) - A new question has been added to the FAQ, which may interest you if you are using visual studio express addition Good luck |

Example2.wrl (see "course material" section) was shown in class to contain two squares, while it was explained that such an example should contain only one. The reason is that the “transform” node was contained in the children node, and thus creating an extra instance of the square The convention which was explained to save up nesting is re-shown in example3.wrl (check the "course material" section), where the “transform” field is out of the nodes, but is compiled to be the top node including the PLANE shape. |
