The grades for the Moed B have been published --- Exam scanning --- The exams will be passed tomorrow to the secretariat for scanning. For any questions/problems regarding the scanning please approach the secretariat and send me (Leonid) an email. --- Appeals --- You may submit an appeal on the appeal form Leonid's mailbox on the fifth floor of Taub until 09.12.09. Please note, however, that if you appeal, all the exam will be fully rechecked and more errors could be found – more points could be reduced as a result of the appeal. -- Seeing the exam forms – The exam forms will not be published. You can see the exam forms until 09.12.09 during Leonid's the office hours. You can see the grades of the automatic checking of hw2. Please note: 1. The grade is out of 70 (and not out of 100). 2. The full grades (including the manual checking) will be published after I am back from the conference. 3. The test files will be available only after the deadline of hw4 (as it is explained there hw4 should work exactly on the same input files and produce exactly same outputs). Although we don't accept any appeals on the automatic checking I strongly advise you to test your hw2 and find the bugs so they will harm your hw4 grade. |

Because some students have ATAM tutorial at 17:30 we will end the tutorial at 17:30 (usual time). However, on Sunday the tutorial will also last 3 hours (from 13:30 till 16:30). |

Next week there will be no tutorial on Wednesday (09.09). Therefore I will hold a complementary tutorial tomorrow (Wednesday, 02.09). The tutorial will last 4 hours (2 hours of the regular tutorial and 2 hours of the complementary one). We will start at 14:30 (pay attention: 1 hour earlier!) and finish at 18:30 (one hour later). Please let me (Leonid) know if there is any problem with this. I am sorry for the inconvenience. |

I have received many emails from the students who can't make link in the Eclipse. Please come to me after the tutorial tomorrow (Wed.) and I will shouw you how to do it. Also I have fixed a mistake in the example.out file and object files in order to fit the definitions that were given in the hw. Please use the updated versions. I also want to remind you to read the FAQ section. |

For some reason lecture files became unavailable last week. I have reuploaded them and they are available for downloading. The files are identical to these that were uploaded at the beginning of the semester, so if you have printed the lectures already you don't have to reprint them. | It appears that most of the students are not in the mailing list. That is probably due to the fact that this is summer semester (there is no such problem in a regular one). I will check the possibility to get the list of all the registered students tomorrow. However, you should add yourself manually to the mailing list of the course (using the course website: http://webcourse.cs.technion.ac.il/234122) |

Homework assignments during the semester | |

Please note the following points regarding the homework assignments: 1. During this semester there will be no postponements for the assignments. Please plan your work accordingly. 2. The MATAM staff will apply advanced methods for discovering copying (HAATAKOT). The students who will be caught copying will face severe punishments. Please note that you are not allowed to share your code, tests and your answers to the dry questions with students, other than your MATAM assignments partner. 3. For your homework assignments, object files/library files will be provided by the MATAM staff. The following formats of the objects/libraries will be provided: a. Linux x86 64 bit (t2) b. Linux x86 32 bit (for Linux 32 bit computers in the farm) c. Windows x86 32 bit for Eclipse CDT with MinGW (can be also used with DevCPP and with cygwin by using -mno-cygwin option) No other formats will be supported by the Matam staff. This is the first mail from the "Introduction to Systems Programming " (234122) course staff in the Summer 2009 semester. Every student registered to the course, should get this mail. All the information you need appears at the course webpage at http://webcourse.cs.technion.ac.il/234122/ The course announcements, notifications, changes etc., will be published on the webpage and through this mailing list. It is your responsibility to be updated and to check from time to time for new information posted on the webpage. The lecture and tutorial slides could be downloaded from the "Course Material" section. The assignments should be submitted in pairs only. You can use the "Find a partner" section to find partners for the homework assignments. The lecture hours, the office hours and the email addresses of the staff appear in the "Staff" section.
