Project fair - clarifications | |

Dear students, 1. We wanted to remind you that the project fair will be held on Tuesday, 25.06, 12:30 - 14:30, at the lobby of Taub building (Floors 0+1). 2. Attendance to the project fair is MANDATORY for all team members. 3. You are encouraged to come at least 30 minutes before the fair to prepare your poster and position. 4. A stable and tested version of your app should be available for download from the Play Store by everyone during the fair (production release and not beta release). 5. You should be ready to demonstrate your app using your devices too. Prepare some content in advance and be ready for a live demo. 6. During the fair you might encounter media personnel and senior visitors from the industry - you are expected to represent the course appropriately. Be ready for an "elevator peach" and you might find yourselves in the news afterwards :) 7. We will be there to assist you and to see your products, which we are very proud of! Dear students, Sprint2 instructions are basically the same as Sprint1 with the following remarks and additions: 1. Your presentation (which will be during the week of the project fair) should include a PowerPoint presentation with the following contents: - Introduction to your app and the problem it solves. - External tools - we expect to see a brief of Firebase tools you used and how, along with other tools and interesting frameworks. - Features you implemented during the semester - Future plans - what would you like to do if you would have one more sprint 2. Few remarks following sprint1 submissions: - User Indications: Make sure you display progress and other indications to the user when there is an ongoing asynchronous action. - Design: The design of your app has a great influence on your grade (see grading key for submissions published at the beginning of the semester) 3. PlayStore: Your app should be ready in a *Production* release during the project fair, and should work for every visitor who wants to download your app. You are free to update your release during this sprint and until 30.06. 4. Project Fair: Be sure to test your app before. If you use Facebook login, make sure any user is able to login. 5. Cloud Functions: It is a different environment than you are used to. Hi all, Tomorrow (01.05.19), Guy will hold a seminar about Git and GitFlow: 16:30-18:30 at Ulman 310. This seminar is UNLIKE the Git seminar the OOP staff provides you with. It will concentrate more about the working methodology which will save you a lot of trouble developing your app, and less about giving you an overview of git's functionality. Also, Guy will present GitFlow, a developing methodology in use by top companies in the industry. This is not included in the OOP seminar, and will help you a lot when coding as a team. Subjects and mentors assignments are now published (you should see it under the Grades tab). In case you are not sure you understand the subject we assigned to your team, you should contact your mentor. Also, it is time to start thinking about your assigned subject in details: think about features, search for tools and frameworks. You will need to present such details in the backlog submission. |

HW1 Clarifications | |

Dear students, We wanted to clarify that all homework assignments should be submitted in singles, and not as a team. Moreover, if you haven't started HW1 yet, we wanted to let you know that the setup of Android Studio involves large downloads from the internet, so in order to avoid delays you might want to start those downloads ASAP. Dear students, HW1, which contains a tutorial on how to setup your Android IDE and basic Android development tasks, is now published. Due date is 24.03.19, 23:59. We highly recommend that you finish the setup until the first lecture, so you will have enough time to solve technical issues. No postponements will be given due to technical issues. The attendance to this tutorial is highly recommended since Firebase is crucial part in all the projects, and you will need it for HW3. לאור הפניות הרבות שאנחנו מקבלים במייל אנחנו מבקשים להבהיר מספר דברים: - הסיבה שלא התקבלתם לקורס היא לא כיוון שאנחנו לא רוצים אתכם, אלא בגלל שאין מקום לכולם בקורס. לכן, זה לא יעזור שתציעו לשלוח רעיונות חדשים או לתקן את הרעיונות שהצעתם - גם אם תציעו רעיון טוב, לא נוכל להכניס אתכם במקום צוות שכבר התקבל. - אנחנו מבינים שרבים מכם ״בנו״ על הפרויקט וזה המקום להזכיר שהובהר בצורה חד משמעית בטופס ההרשמה שהרישום בו לא מבטיח השתתפות. יש בפקולטה פרויקטים רבים אחרים במעבדות השונות שבאפשרותכם לקחת. - קיבלנו גם כן פניות רבות מסטודנטים שזה הסמסטר האחרון שלהם והם צריכים פרויקט. עם כל הצער שבדבר, אין לנו איך לעזור עם זה. אתם מוזמנים לפנות בעניין זה לדרגים הרלוונטים בפקולטה או למזכירות. גם בעניין בקשות להגדלת הקורס יש לפנות אל הגורמים הרלוונטיים בפקולטה. - במקרה שיתפנה מקום בקורס מסיבה כלשהי, אנחנו נפנה לצוותים נוספים על פי קריטריוני המיון שצוינו במייל שנשלח אליכם. בהצלחה, צוות הקורס |
