The Moed B will take place in Ullman 301-304 on 07.04, 17:30-20:45 The room for students with time extensions is Ullman 302. The exam consists of two parts with a small break between them. Leaving the classrooms for the rest rooms is allowed only during the break. The exam is with "open material" – you can use any printed or written material. Using computers/calculators is not allowed. |

You cannot appeal over the automatic check unless: --You ran all tests (which can now be found on ~mtm/public/0809a/ex3/final_tests) in the same conditions and figured the automatic checker was wrong. --There was some kind of a technical error with the electronic submission and you have the confirmation code or a copy of the files on T2 with a correct date. Only if one of the above two conditions holds for you, send an email to Alex no later than 09.03. Please, include in your email your ID and numbers of tests that you want to appeal on. | The students who want to receive the results of the tests of their homework assignments by email are asked to submit their email addresses via the course webpage -> Assignments -> Submission of email addresses for receiving results of the tests of the assignments -> Electronic Submit. In order to submit your email address, please submit a text file mail.txt which will contain a single line with your email address. The submission is in singles – every student will receive all the tests of his/her assignments to the submitted email address, without any relation to who are/were his/her partners in the assignments. |

Please note that Shabbat is not counted in the count of late days or postponements. To exemplify the policy update: 1. If the submission date of an assignment is on Thursday 23:50 and a student submits the assignment on Sunday 23:50, the assignment is considered to be 2 days late (not counting Shabbat) 2. If the submission date of an assignment is on Thursday 23:50 and a student has a 2 days postponement, the student can submit the assignment on Sunday 23:50 |

Announcement for students who have three or more midterms (BHANEI EMTZA) | |

The students who have three or more midterms (BHANEI EMTZA) will receive a postponement for the assignment in which they have the majority of the midterms. The postponement will be given only if the students will provide documents proving that they indeed participated in the three or more midterms. The postponement for an assignment will not entail any postponements for the next assignments. The postponements will be given in the following way : 2 days postponement for participation in 3 midterms 4 days postponement for participation in 4 midterms 6 days postponement for participation in 5 midterms To exemplify the postponements policy : If a student has 3 midterms during the period of assignment 2 and 1 midterm during the period of the assignment 3, he will receive 4 days postponement for the assignment 2 . The student will not receive any postponement for the assignment 3. The documents proving participation in the midterms : A copy of the title page of a checked midterm. The title page must contain the name or the ID of the student. or A signed letter from the lecturer in charge of the course of the midterm. The documents must be submitted until 12.02.09 to the mailbox of Vadim (91 on the Taub's fifth floor). Until the documents are submitted, the grades of the students will reduced us usual, 5 points per one late day. The grades for the assignments will be updated once the documents proving participation in the midterms will be received. |

The comment of scheduleReportLinesBetweenStations was fixed to be consistent with the instructions. "price < maximumPrice" is now "price <= maximumPrice". 2 changes In linked_list.h The function linkedListFind was added to the list of functions at the top of the file. linkedListGetCurrent returns LIST_FAIL if the list is empty. the copy function isn't used and therefore can't cause a failure. The changes are only in comments and therefore shouldn't effect the functionality of your code. |

Please note that your exercise will be tested with Unix style newlines. | The tomorrow's tutorial of Alex (19.11 14:30 – 16:30) is cancelled due to the Technion Teaching Staff Organization meeting. The complementing tutorial will be taught on 19.11 18:30-20:30, Taub 9. In addition, Alex will not attend the tutorial tomorrow due to personal reasons – Vadim will replace him for tomorrow only. |

Homework assignments during the semester | |

Please note the following points regarding the homework assignments : 1. During this semester there will be no postponements for the assignments. Please plan your work accordingly. 2. The MATAM staff will apply advanced methods for discovering copying (HAATAKOT). The students who will be caught copying will face severe punishments. Please note that it is not allowed to share your code with students, other than your MATAM assignments partner. 3. For your homework assignments, object files/library files will be provided by the MATAM staff. The following formats of the objects/libraries will be provided: a. Linux x86 64 bit (t2) b. Linux x86 32 bit (for Linux 32 bit computers in the farm) c. Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 (for Windows computers in the farm) d. Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 No other formats will be supported by the Matam staff. Please prepare your programming environment accordingly. For information regarding Microsoft Visual Studio please see Course Material -> Helpers -> Working with Visual C++. |

Please note that the required KDAMIM for the course will be enforced. The KDAMIM will be enforced according to the grades of MOEDEI B. The registration of the students who will not fulfill the KDAMIM will be cancelled automatically. |

This is the first mail from the "Introduction to Systems Programming " (234122) course staff in the semester Winter 2008-2009. Each student registered to the course, should get this mail. All the information you need appears at the course website at http://webcourse.cs.technion.ac.il/234122/ The course announcements, notifications, changes etc., will be published on the website and through this mailing list. It is your responsibility to be updated and to check from time to time for new information posted on the website. The lecture and tutorial slides can be downloaded from the "Course Material" section. You can use the "Find a partner" section to find partners for the homework assignments. The lecture hours, the office hours and the email addresses of the staff appear in the "Staff" section.
