The course focuses on geometric computational methods and algorithms in image processing and understanding. We explore applications like shape reconstruction, color image enhancement and segmentation, edge integration, offset computation, symmetry axis, minimal geodesics, and invariant signatures. We learn how to use and combine tools from mathematical morphology, differential geometry, graph theory, numerical analysis, and calculus of variations and apply them to solution of problems in image processing and computer vision.
