Classroom questions bonus for Reserve Duty soldiers

We offer students who were in reserve duty on the dates of the classroom questions an option to get the bonus retroactively: The dates were: 17.11.2025 08.12.2025 29.12.2025 19.01.2026 In order to receive the bonus in this fashion, write a summary BY HAND of the lecture for the date you missed, the topic could be found in the course syllabus and send it together with the 3010 forum. Good summaries would receive 2 points bonus per lecture and decent ones would receive 1 point, same as answering the classroom question. To receive this bonus send the summary before 12.04.2026, if you want to send it later than that it could be managed but contact us first. All relevant PDFs should be sent to uamir.mannatcampus.technion.ac.il Under no other circumstances other than reserve duty would we allow the bonus to be received in that fashion, so please do not ask it. Extension for the final project
|
Dear student, In order to provide certainty, we are extending the final project deadline by 4 more days, until next Thursday (2026.03.12). We plan this to be the final extension. With the late submission policy, this means most of you can submit until next Sunday (2026.03.15) without any penalty. Students who are in the army, either on reserve duty or closing weekends due to the war, will receive further extensions as required. Final Project Extension Update

Dear student, With the Technion not yet publishing any guidelines regarding projects during the war, we still do not have a final decision as to the exact project deadline. For now, we are extending the deadline by 2 more days, until 8.3 (next Sunday). We are not sure there will be a further extension, and we suggest planning accordingly. For any students who were called to reserve duties during the war, the deadline will be further extended by the number of days they serve, and there will be no issue handling the related paperwork after their full return. HW1 grades and appeals

Dear students, HW1 grades have been made available to you all. In the feedback files, you can find the reasons for point deductions. The second feedback files include late submission days, there are no other differences. Because we know you are all busy with the project, appeals on this assignment will be accepted until the 12th of March by email to uamir.mannatcampus.technion.ac.il. Appeals are for cases of CLEAR HW checking mistakes, for example, if the final grade does not match the feedback grades. Unjustified appeals might cause point deductions. We made available on the course website the grades for the bonus questions from the lectures. If you have received 2, you got the full bonus, 1, you got some of it right, and 0, we did not consider your answer a valid one for the question. If you did not receive a grade at all (not a 0) and did answer the question, you can contact Amir at uamir.mannatcampus.technion.ac.il We will not accept appeals on the bonus questions. To complete this assignment, you will require GPUs. All of you have been given permission to access the faculty High Power Computing systems for that. Dear students, We were made aware that some students do not allocate resources when using Lambda with commands like `srun` or the provided `py-sbatch.sh` script. This slows down the server and hurts other students’ ability to complete the HW. In order to free resources, we might terminate all long-standing or resource-intensive processes that are using the edge node resources, so be aware. For details on how to allocate resources properly, please visit: https://vistalab-technion.github.io/cs236781/assignments/hpc-servers Unrelated, we plan to rebalance the load and grade portion between HW3 and the project. Updated notebook for HW 2 part 6 YOLO

We have updated notebook 6 in the assignment. The new notebook can be found by downloading the assignment again, or by downloading it directly from the Piazza post: https://piazza.com/class/mgdhmltpzql7bg/post/63 The Piazza post also includes the expected output of the first cell for your convenience. The changes are: 1. The code now uses YOLOv5 instead of v3. 2. The inference code is now provided for you, matching the style of the other notebooks. 3. We removed question 2. (Note that it still exists in the answers.py file; it just will not be asked, displayed, or graded. This is to avoid changing the question order.) The HW is due on November 24, 2025, and we would accept late submissions under the late policy, which can be found in the information_sheet.pdf. Hello students, Since the semester begins this Wednesday, the first two tutorials (Moshe's on Wednesday and Itay's on Thursday) will be cancelled. A makeup tutorial will be scheduled near the end of the term. We have published the "Tutorial 0" recording under the course materials, along with links to useful resources to help you familiarize yourselves with some basics. We highly recommend watching the tutorial if you are not familiar with Conda, NumPy, or broadcasting. If you are not familiar with Python, we recommend completing the exercises as well.
