You can base your solution on publicly available implementations of feature selection with genetic algorithms. For example, WEKA contains such an implementation. However note: i) You should report of any text\implementation you use; ii) Your grade will be influenced by the (creative) added value you bring to the solution. |

Assignment 3 - Clarifications | |

1) You may use any decision-tree algorithm. Note that Weka contains implementations of several such algorithms, for example, ID3 and C4.5 (under j48 package). 2) One reasonable way to provide a solution is: i) Raise few questions that you wanna attack; ii) Define an appropriate Tree-NN algorithm and experiment-setup; iii) Analyze the results. 3) We do not expect you to suggest a state-of-the-art algorithm. We expect you to define a good experiment. 4) The grade will correspond your considerations (questions), algorithm, experiment setup, and analysis. Any solution that matches good considerations, solid experiments and interesting analysis will be good. 5) The next assignment will be the last one.. |

We have been noted that a promise made for submitting "wet" assignments in pairs, therefore, will allow submission in pairs. However, the current assignment was designed for submission in singles. Hence, we will shortly add a portion for those of you who want to submit in pairs. Note, this overhead will be only relevant for submitting in pairs. Also, all the above will have no affect on due time. |
