Due to unforeseen circumstances class tomorrow (16/1) is cancelled. There will not be a makeup class, but next week we may use up the extra hour for the TA session that's never happened so we can have time to cover all the things we need to cover (where we left off, your results, and the projects) Please still get HW3 in by Thursday. |

| As was rightly asked in class today, testAlreadyAVariable in ExtractToVariableTests has an incorrect range. The test will now pass with the same code as testExtractBadRange, so you get a freebie test and one less check to implement if you don't want to. (If you do want to, you can change the line number from 2 to 3 in that test.) |

Despite my best efforts, hw1 will be in Java. (Trust me, you don't want to try to work with the symbol table in python...) I added an extra week so you'll have time to set up a new environment and get used to it. Clone the code, make the tests pass. The assignment PDF has a setup guide, and I strongly recommend that you install intellij to work on this, you even have access to the pro license via your campus email. If you ever registered PyCharm, it's the same license. |
