- 234118 - Computer Organization And Programming (ATAM): mandatory for a base level of programming experience you should have after it
- Object Oriented Programming or Theory of Compilers will make your life in this class easier
In this class you will learn:
- What we know about how people program and use their tools
- Why we need to know these things
- How we came by that knowledge
- How to create your own new knowledge
Topics:
- Software engineering core topics: programming languages, type systems, tooling, testing
- Usability testing
- Quantitative and qualitative collection of data
- Advanced methods for data collection
- Data analysis
For this class you will need:
- To bring a device that can build and run code to every class
- VirtualBox installed (preferred, but you can also install things locally)
- A buddy OR the grit and determination to work alone
Grade components:
- 7-8 in-class assignments
- Homework (3 short, 1 long)
- Class presentation of your final homework
- 100% Attendance is required receive a grade. If you have miluim, were sick, or other extenuating circumstances, you will need to make up the lesson you missed. Make up assignments are not available if your reason for missing class is not justified.
