Hi all, In continuation to what I already mentioned in class, there are two talks that may be interesting for some of you at the faculty this week: 1. Oded Goldreich will be talking about secure multi-party computation, which happens to also be the topic of this week's lecture. Oded is a co-inventor of the first MPC protocol (which we will also see in class on Thursday) as well as several other notion and results that we saw in class (the ZK protocol for 3-coloring, pseudorandom functions, etc). The talk is part of a workshop in honor of Hagit's 60th birthday and you may be interested in other talks as well: https://hagit60.net.technion.ac.il 2. Clarifications regarding tutorial 9 | |

The definition of FHE we saw in class (as well as the schemes used in the transformation from private to public) refer to 1-bit encryption schemes. A long string is encrypted bit by bit. As such, the homomorphic evaluation yields the encryption of a single bit. At some point, there was a question about the length of the output of the circuits and the polynomial m(n): if the circuit outputs multiple bits, then we homomorphically evaluate the (encryption of) the output bit by bit. The length of the encryption of each bit is bounded by m(n). |
