Running 16 processes in Homework 3

For students who are not able to run the synchronous neural network with n=16, please run it with the following command instead: srun -K -c 2 -n X -- mpi=pmi2 -- pty python3 main.py sync (The change is in the parameter after -c from 4 to 2,making it that each process that is created via mpi will use 2 cores instead of 4, making the total cores used to 16*2=32 cores, which everybody should have the permissions on the server to utilize) for further problems continue to reach out to matan. Running On the Lambda Server

Dear Students, Please make sure to use srun/sbatch when trying/testing your homeworks. Running without it doesn't guarantee giving you enough resources and causes issues for the IT team. For any issues tou can contact the homework's instructor. Good Luck! |

Lambda Server cores permissions

Dear students, After talking with the faculty's technical support, you all should have permisisons to run your homework scripts with up to 32 cores as requested in the assignment. Note, the server doesn't contain a lot of cores (and you are sharing it with other courses), so it may take time before your job actually starts running. Due to heavy usage of the Lambda server, running programs with 8 cores might be unavailable. Therefore, if you are unable to run max_functions.py with 8 cores, please provide an estimation of the expected results for 8 cores and explain your reasoning. Note that even if you do manage to run with 8 cores, you should still explain your findings. Good luck! |
