The course will teach the database approach to the design of information systems and data-centric applications. The focus of the course is on the relational model, wherein the course will include various concepts of query languages, integrity constraints, schema design, and transaction management. The non-relational models will include XML and other common models known as NoSQL.

80% - Final exam
20% - Assignments:
1st assignment: dry, 5%
2nd assignment: wet in python, 10%
3rd assignment: dry, 5%
Assignments can be submitted in pairs and should be typed.
Assignment grades will be taken into consideration only for students who get at least 55 in the final exam.
