The course will teach the database approach to the design of information systems and data-centric applications. The focus of the course is on the relational model, wherein the course will include various concepts of query languages, integrity constraints, schema design, and transaction management. The non-relational models will include XML, RDF, and the Semantic Web, and common models known as NoSQL.

75% - Final exam
25% - Assignments:
1st assignment: dry, 5%
2nd assignment: wet, 10%
3rd assignment: dry, 5%
4th assignment: dry, 5%
Assignments should be submitted only in pairs (as opposed to previous semester).
Assignment grades will be taken into consideration only for students who get at least 55 in the final exam!
