1. As you probably know, the exam will take place on Sunday, 2/2/03, between 17:00 and 20:00, in Taub. 2. All written/printed material is allowed. 3. The reception hours before the exam will take place: Wed 16:00-17:00 - Oded (Taub 316) Thu 13:30-14:30 - Alex (Taub 225) Sun 11:30-12:30 - Anan (Taub 330) 4. The material for the exam includes ALL the material covered at class, including topics not taught at tutorials: SQL, RA, RC, Datalog, LDL, ERD, ODL, OQL, Functional Dependencies, Multi-valued Dependencies, Design, BCNF, 3NF, 4NF, ... 5. Due to mail problems, some of the wet appeals might have remained not answered. If you've sent an appeal by e-mail and didn't get a response - please, resend it. 6. Dry3 solution will be published on Thursday, 12:30 (right after the submission deadline, no late submissions will be accpeted). We'll try to publish also common mistakes of dry1 and dry2. Shalom, 1. Wet assignment graded. 2. Appeals could be sent by e-mail to aglik@cs until 15/1/03, including IDs and the test details that you claim to be wrong. 3. Your printouts will be returned after the appeals period (there are no marks/remarks on them). 4. The final test cases could be found at http://www.cs.technion.ac.il/~aglik/wet/testcases/ For each test X, X.in is the input file, X.in.arg contains the argument of the program ("manager", 12345, etc., test 1 runs without argument), X.in.sol is the expected output (with end-of-line at the end - you can ignore it). 5. You can find the logs of your submissions at http://www.cs.technion.ac.il/~aglik/wet/ (according to your IDs). Note that there might be several runs of the tests in the log file - you should refere to the last one. 6. In case of several submissions with different partners - the highest grade used. 7. 1. In Dry2, Question 1b updated (several syntax mistakes fixed). 2. In Dry1, Q.1b-1 (multiple credit cards) we decided to give 3 more points for solutions proposing additional entity "CCard" connected to "Customer" by separate relation ("Owns"). Although, the complete solution would be to connect Bid to the aggregation of Customer, Owns and CCard (and not just to Customer, as it was originally). 3. Shalom, The early submissions were checked. You can see the results at http://www.cs.technion.ac.il/~aglik/wet/ (see log file corresponding to your IDs). In case of failure, both you output and the expected output are printed. Notice that in case some test failed an the output of your program doesn't appear in the log file, probably some fatal failure occured during the execution (like segmentation fault, or fatal SQL error). Shalom, 1. Important: avoid declaring in your code functions with indentical names to the standard ones (like "connect", "close", etc.) - it might cause unpredictable results! 2. In "open" command, if there are no open auctions, print message "No open auctions" 3. Electronic submission is open. DBMS wet assignment corrections and FAQ

Shalom, Several corrections and notes: 1. The "open" command in manager mode shouldn't display the current client's bid details (since there is no current client) 2. The "close" command should check whether the given auction is already closed, and print "Auction is already closed" if it is. 3. Assume that all the commands entered at the program's prompt are legal, i.e. you don't have to check whether the parameters' types are OK. 4. Assume that the initial DB content is consistant, and the modifications to the DB are made through the interface you are writing (e.g., all the bids in the DB are legal and succeeded passing the "bid" command). Although the due date is 30/12/2002, you should start working on it soon, since the second dry assignemnt will be published soon too. The corresponding tables will be distributed to your accounts in few days (with sample data). Also, the electronic submission will be openned soon.
