Wet late submissions | |

The policy of late submissions is as follows: 1. Late submissions are allowed until 24/5/03, 23:55 (next saturday), using the regular electronic submission system. 2. The penalty for late submissions will be 4 points per day (according to the date of the last submitted file) 3. Students that were in MILUIM, will not get any penalty for the same number of days as the overlapping between the submission period and their MILUIM, but no more than 7 days. 4. Students that were in MILUIM for more than 7 days during the submission period (and their partners) are allowed not to submit the wet ex' (in this case their final grade will be calculated differently). 5. The submission of the printouts is also until 24/5/03. 6. No submissions after 24/5/03 will be allowed! 7. If you've already submitted your program, but want to use the late submission option (with the penalty) - just submit the updated program again (the penalty will be determined according to the date of last submitted program). Due to the postponement: a. Electronic submissions until 13/5 23:55 will be checked with the automatic system using (slightly) extended set of test cases. b. The results hopefully will be published before the final deadline (We'll do our best). c. Anyway, you'll be allowed to submit fixed versions until the final deadline (17/5) d. Notice that the final tests will be automatic, and any "technical" mistakes that might be discovered during the early tests won't be concidered as a reason for an appeal. |

What should be the output? A: First of all, notice that the given DB is legal, since all the requirements are OK. When we run "check_remove 10", the output should be: pid | pname | pcity | edept | mdept --------+----------------+------------+-------+------- 456789 | Sagi Elbaz | Haifa | 30 | 20 456789 | Sagi Elbaz | Haifa | 30 | null 456789 | Sagi Elbaz | Haifa | null | 20 The general guideline is to leave tuples that are not affected by the operation as they were before. You should not merge or separate tuples in check_remove. Just make sure that the obtained content answers the requirements (no identical tuples, no null-null unless no other tuples with same pid, etc.). The meta-algorithm could be: (1) replace all instances of Y by 'null' (2) make sure that the obtained DB content is legal (remove tuples if needed). Of course, the table itself shouldn't be changed, as explained in the assignment. |
