Dear students, Moed C has been graded and the final grades are available online. No factor was given, and your magen grades of quiz A and quiz B were taken into account. Afterwards, every student whose final grade was between 50 and 55 was given 56. As for the appealing procedure: this exam will not be sent to scanning. Instead, Itay will hold a notebook opening (פתיחת מחברות) tomorrow afternoon (time and place will be published in the morning). Dear students, Moed C will take place in the beginning of the upcoming semester, the exact date is yet to be determined. Usually, moed C is only open to students who were unable to attend moed A or moed B due to Miluim, health problems, etc. However, since this will be the last exam in Automata and Formal Languages, you may submit a special request to attend moed C in the following form. Several remarks: • The form will remain open until Wednesday (23.10) at 23:55. • Each request will be considered separately, submitting a request does not automatically guarantee that you will be entitled to attend moed C. • Students who have already submitted requests to Gadi or Itay by mail are also requested to fill in the form. • This will be the last exam ever to be given in this course. We remind you that submission is optional, and feedback will be given only to PDF files (not handwritten) submitted electronically. You may submit in pairs/groups. Clarification regarding tomorrow's complementary lecture | |

Dear students, As you know, there will be several holidays and days off this semester. Our aim in setting this complementary lecture, as well as several other complementary lessons throughout the semester, is to be able to synchronize the lectures, tutorials, homework assignments and quizzes despite these holidays. Therefore, lecture 2 will be given tomorrow, and lecture 3 will be given this Wednesday. We stress that new material will be covered tomorrow. Happy Purim! Course staff. |

Dear students, We are happy to welcome you to 236353 Automata and Formal Languages! The course announcements, notifications, changes, etc. will be published on the web and through this mailing list. It's your responsibility to be updated and to check from time to time for new information posted on the web, at http://webcourse.cs.technion.ac.il/236353. Since there are many holidays and days off during Spring semesters, the staff designed an elaborate schedule of complementary lectures and tutorials to keep all groups synchronized. You may find this tentative course schedule, which specifies the material to be taught in each week along with the submission dates of each homework assignment, under the Syllabus section in the course website. Also there, you can find our course guidelines. Please be sure to read both files carefully. The lectures and tutorial slides can be downloaded and printed from the site (under "Course material"). We recommend that you bring a printout of the slides to every lesson. A few quick announcements: • All tutorials throughout the first week of the semester are canceled. • There will be no workshops in the first and second weeks of the semester. • There will be a complementary lecture on March 24, 16:30-18:30, in the auditorium in Sego building. Another announcement with all relevant details will be given next week. • Due to administrative matters, Shlomit's tutorial group (Thursday's group) has been permanently rescheduled to 09:30 instead of 10:30, we apologize for any inconvenience.
