Abstract: Autodesk Maya provides powerful integrated animation, modeling, simulation, rendering, and compositing tools on a robust and extensible CG pipeline core. Autodesk’s Maya has proved invaluable to the CG industry. A skilled Maya modeler can build a computer model of a detailed machine part, or a multi-floor building, using just this flexible software. In fact, if you can imagine it, Maya can model it. The advanced Maya workflow extends further, taking the wireframe model and adding cool textures to it. After that, the finished scene can be realistically rendered, complete with shadows, reflections and transparency.Learning every tool of Autodesk Maya can take significant time. In this talk we will provide an interactive introductory tutorial to Maya and give an overview of its basic toolset. The tutorial will be HANDS-ON, and all participants are highly encouraged to bring a laptop with Maya already installed, so they will be able to follow the steps and techniques introduced in the talk. You have more than two weeks to finish this assignment, but be aware that the next assignment's period will overlap this one (you will have at least a week between deadlines) |

Please change the following in the code: 1) In Implicit.h operator() should be pure virtual (=0 in the end). 2) ImplicitMLS and ImplicitRBF should inherit from Implicit. Credit goes to Vlad. |

Submitting Assignments

Dear students, When preparing your assignment for submission, please clean-up the entire solution (both debug and release) and delete any file that is unnecessary. Most important, delete the .sdf file that is in your .sln folder. In your submission include the entire solution, with OpenMesh, the libraries and of course your code. I should be able to open the .sln file, compile and run without making any changes. Zip or rar everything and check the size of the file. If it's more than ~5Mb, you're doing it wrong. After you compressed your solution, extract it to a different folder and check that it compiles. If everything runs smoothly, submit it to the site. Since we are on a tight schedule, there will be no time for second and third tries, so make sure you got everything right on the first try. Also, as a reminder, you should work alone and submit your own work. The submission of the first assignment is extended to Thursday. If you did not submit according to the above explanation, please resubmit a corrected version. Pessach Sameach, Roi |

Assignment #1 update

The code for assignment #1 was updated to incorporate the latest version of OpenMesh. Please download the new version and make sure it runs. Note that the project is only available for VS2010. If you are using VS2012, you can keep using it, but you must also install VS2010 and set the project to build in VS2010 mode (change the "Platform Toolset" in the project's general properties to "v100"). |
