Final presentations will be held in SSDL, in the back room. Please arrive about 1/2 hour in advance, to receive a projector and prepare your system. It is possible that external guests will be invited to the presentations. |

J2EE in the SSDL | |

Shalom, there are at least 2 PCs at the lab, where the J2EE installation is corrupt. Since Shahar is on vacation, this will probably take some time to fix. I request, that you use J2EE exactly as described in the course slides. You do not try anything else, especially any manual hacking. When you finish your work on a particular day, perform the "cleanup" script in the J2EE 'bin' directory. HW#3 is not out yet, it will be out soon. Meanwhile - proceed with implementation. Alex. |

Cloudscape Reference Manual | |

Shalom, the Cloudscape reference manual is available in the 'Material' section. I don't think you will need this document very often (if at all) but it should answer any question you have on using the Cloudscape database. |

Dear students, 1) The SSDL accounts are open. Use your TD-CSF login and password. 2) Make sure you read and understand the SSDL regulations here: http://www.cs.technion.ac.il/Labs/ssdl/ssdl/index.html 3) Subscribe to the SSDL mailing list here: http://techunix.technion.ac.il/archives/ssdl-users-l.html 4) Using J2EE at SSDL: Currently the J2EE is installed on 6 black Compaqs. Later it will be installed on the PCs at the back room as well. Each time you log in, perform: Start--->Run, type 'cmd' Then type: subst y: "C:\Program Files" The first time you log in: set the JAVA_HOME envorinment variable to Y:\sun\j2sdk1.4.2_01 set the J2EE_HOME envorinment variable to Y:\sun\j2sdkee1.3.1 (All this trouble is because of the space in "Program Files") 4) The 'Cloudscape Kit' is available on the website. Learn how to use it from the Addendum 3 slides (we will go over it at the lecture). 5) Currently there is some problem with J2EE server at the lab, but you already can play with the Cloudscape kit. In any case I will personally see, that each team is able to start all the tools. Alex. |

Dear students, because of the student strike, some of the students haven't attended the first lecture. So next week, we will hold the same lecture again, i.e., we start the lectures all over from the beginning. However, we will need also to do a complementary lecture to keep up with the schedule. Kantorowitz This website, in general, will be used for both groups, although group 10 will also use the old website: http://www.cs.technion.ac.il/~cs236323/ Therefore, every item on this website will be labeled "For group 10" or "For group 20".
