(*) A proposed solution has been published and can be found in the course material, under 'previous exams' section. (*) As you might have understood already, a factor of 4 points was given to the final grade. The final grade calculation was: - If exam grade > 46: (80% exam, 20% assignments) + 4 - Otherwise: (100% exam) + 4 Note that students who got 47-50 in their exam didn't get their HW grades calculated at first but this was fixed and their grade in the UG will soon be updated. (*) If you plan to submit an appeal, there's no need to attach a printout of your exam with the appeal form. |

In consideration of requests for postponement, and also of the approaching end of semester, we decided upon the following: In HW5 - the required part of the HW5 is limited to: Q1 clause 1, Q2, Q3 clauses 3,4,5 and Q4. Solve these and you get 100 Solve also any of these: Q1.2, Q3.1, Q3.2 - and you get 5 point bonus for each. No points will be given if you solve the bonus clauses but do not solve (or attempt to solve) the required part of the HW. |

ML code behaving differently on different computers
|
We have been getting reports of the same code running on some computers but not on others. If you have such problems: 1. Mail Ido with an example 2. Try switching to an older version of SML (from the website go to previous semester->course material, and get the SML package from there). Write to Ido about the results of the switch. 3. If it works on either of the versions (the new is 110.71, the old is 110.0.3) then its OK for HW3. We may change this policy in the future. |

Some info. about this Wednesday

Yuval will be in Miluyim this Wednesday, so he will not give his reception hour. If you want to meet him regarding HW2 schedule a meeting (probably on Thursday) by email. He will give an alternative reception hour for HW2 next week on Monday at 10:30. A reminder: a fifth tutorial group is now opened starting this Wednesday @ 16:30 in Taub7 This week material is 'ML - curried'. We will begin with slide 27 of 'ML - introduction' for those of you who didn't finish tutorial 3. |

No lecture on 18.11 + new tutorial group!

Dear students, 1) There will be no lecture on November the 18th. A complementary lecture is not expected to be given. 2) We've opened a 5th tutorial group on Wednesday at 16:30-17:30 starting next week. Note that because next week is the 4th Wednesday of the semester the tutorial that will be given is 'ML curried' (4th tutorial) and not 'ML introduction'. This means that until Hanuka Wednesday and Thursday tutorials are ahead of the other tutorials. Also, the Wednesday tutorial will be given by Yuval, instead of the Thursday tutorial that will be given by Omer Weissbrod starting next week. Enjoy, Course staff |

Important message regarding Thursday's tutorial

Since there are no studies between 12:30 and 14:30 this Thursday, Yuval will give his tutorial at 14:30 instead of 12:30. Yuval's office hour (at 13:30) remains at the usual time, but if you cannot attend it you can also come after the tutorial (at 15:30). If the location changes a message will be published tomorrow. Otherwise the tutorial will be given at the usual place (Taub 3). If you go to Thursdays tutorials and can't attend this one you can go to the same tutorial next week on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. |

Working in SSDL computer lab

Students that are registered to the PL course can work in the linux SSDL computer lab on the 2nd floor. Please read the SSDL presentation (see course material) for information. The lab has some rules and regulations that have to be respected. Note that students might be expelled from the lab if they break these rules. |
