We are interested to know how many of you want to do MOED C. Those of you that are interested (and eligible) for MOED C, submit an e-mail to Liran Katzir with you ID number. Students who took both MOED A and MOED B are automatically not eligible. A student who served in reserve duty (Miluim) in MOED A or MOED B is automatically eligible. This announcement does NOT implies that MOED C will take place this semester, it is possible that MOED C will be next semester’s MOED A. |

We will publish a solution sketch and some notes on common mistakes on the secretary's board. Please read it BEFORE you appeal, it might save your (and our) time. Appeals that will address points that were mentioned explicitly in this paper will be directed back to it. Appeal should be submitted to Liran Katzir's mail box. An appeal should include the appeal form and the id of the relevant student. You do not need to provide a copy of the exam. The due date for submitting an appeal is on the 06/May/2007. |

MOED B will take place right after the Passover vacation; therefore, there will be no additional office hours before the exam. MOED B will have the same structure as MOED A, but the load in part A is reduced. |

MOED A and Final A grades are published. A +14 points factor was given to MOED A grades. To prevent appeals for a single point, the homework grade aided students how scored >= 53 in the exam, About 10% of the grades are >= 90. The median is 70. About 20% of the students failed. |

All students must know all recitations and lectures material. This includes: Graph algorithm taught only in the recitations. Suffix Array taught only in the recitations. Counting sort taught only in the recitations. Deletion of a leaf in a heap taught only in the recitations. Union-find variants taught only in the recitations. Etc… |

Benny give a 2-hour lesson on Thursday 08/Mar/2007 between 13:30-15:30 at Taub 7. During this lesson he will solve questions/ review the course material according to your requests. In order to efficiently use the time he asks that question will be sent before the class. Questions that will be sent before the lesson will have a higher priority. |

Undergraduate office will NOT accept MOED ALEPH grades of students who did not pre-register as was demanded. Student who are registered we will only accept grades from MOED ALEPH of this semester. This was decided upon by the Technion committees. Limudei hasmacha does not have the right to decide otherwise, nor does individual lecturers. |

Exam for last semester students | |

if a student has taken one, and only one, of the moed aleph, bet and miuchad (gimmel) exams in any course in the last (spring) semester, and the course is given again this semester, then she/he has the right to take the moed aleph (AND ONLY MOED ALEPH) exam of this present winter semester as his second moed. That is, this will then count as his moed bet from the spring semester of 2006. |

This only applies to students that have been examined in at most one period. This is the first official mail from the "Data Structures 1" (234218) course staff. Each student registered to the course, should get this mail. Those who didn't get it, are probably not registered, or are not on the mailing list. So, if you know about friends who take this course that did not get this mail, please inform them to register through the "Auto Update" feature appearing at the homepage. All the information you need appears at the course website at: http://webcourse.cs.technion.ac.il/234218. The course announcements, notifications, changes and etc. will be published on the web and through this mailing list. It's your responsibility to be updated and to check from time to time for new information posted on the web. Please make sure you read the course guidelines that appear in the info_sheet under the syllabus tab (will be online soon). The lectures slides can be downloaded and printed from the site (under "course material") or obtained as a booklet at Beit Hastudent. In the recitations, we will teach with PowerPoint slides which also appear under "course material". Additional service that the course home page suggests is partner finding. Our office hours and email addresses will be updated soon under “staff” tab. Try to fit yourselves to those office hours, or contact us by email. We will be happy to answer your questions and help you with this course during the semester. The lectures and recitations will be held starting the first day of the semester.
