Hi all, Moed C grades and the final grades for those who attended moed C are published. The grade for the exam includes a very generous factor; you can see also your original grade on the site. The final grade was calculated according to the same formula as Moed A and B The exams will be available online on the undergraduate web sitein the nearest days. The appeals may be submitted until 30.11 in either way: 1. Directly to Roostam's cell on the 5th floor of Taub, with the regular appealling form filled. 2. Dear Students, Moed B grades and the final grades for those who attended moed B are published. The grade for the exam includes a factor; you can see also your original grade on the site. The final grade was calculated according to the same formula: Final_B = 0.9 * Exam_B_Fact + 0.1 * HW_Average , where HW_Average is the average of all 6 HWs (in 100 scale). The exams will be returned to the secretariat and should be available online in the nearest days. You should be able to view your exam electronically, by pressing view ("HATZEG") on the undergraduate web site. Dear students, According to Technion's decision, due of the recent situation, we will hold MOED GIMEL. 1. Each student is entitled to come to MOED GIMEL. 2. Each student (with a few exceptions, e.g. MILUIM) can take MOED GIMEL in no more than two courses. 3. The student can choose to replace MOED GIMEL with the exam of the winter semester. 4. In any case, a student cannot take more than two exams in the course. That means those who attended both MOED A and MOED B, will not be able to attend MOED GIMEL. 5. Dear Students, HW6 grades and final grades are published. The final grade was calculated according to the following: Final_A = 0.9 * Exam_A_Fact + 0.1 * HW_Average , where HW_Average is the average of all 6 HWs. HW6: A factor of 10 was addted to your HW6 grade. The remaining HWs It will be returned to the cells Sunday-Monday. You can appeal on HW6 by sending an email to Roostam with the claims explanation and a picture of the CHECKED HW attached until 31.8. Please note that the factor was added to cover possible harsh checking standards, so appeals of up to 10 points will be treated as already covered by the factor. Moed A grades published

Dear Students, Moed A grades have been published. The grade includes a factor; you can see also your original grade on the site. The final grades are still delayed because of HW6 grades; we will publish them within the nearest 2-3 days. The exams will be returned to the secretariat in the nearest days and should be available online few days after that. You should be able to view your exam electronically, by pressing view ("HATZEG") on the undergraduate web site. Regarding the appealing procedure: 1) After the exams are visible on the site, you will have 3 weeks to appeal (normally it's 2 weeks, but we extended it due to the circumstances) 2) The regular way to submit an appeal is via the secretariat using the special forms. Due to the current situation, we will allow also an electronic submission of appeals. Electronic appeals should be sent to Roostam, to uroostamatgmail.com. An appeal should include a ZIP file with your exam (obtained from the undergraduate site), and a filled appeal form, which is available in the course web site under "Material" or from the direct link: http://webcourse.cs.technion.ac.il/234111/Spring2006/ho/WCFiles/Appeal.doc 3) Your appeal claims may relate only to the correctness of your answer or points miscalculation, not the grading key. Remarks like "you have reduced too many points for this type of error" will be disregarded. 4) Please note that the entire exam will be re-examined, and points can be reduced as well as being added to your grade. Extra exam time for Olim Hadashim

Dear all, An extra 20 minutes will be given to Olim Hadashim during the exam. The definition of an Oleh Hadash is someone who has lived in Israel for less than a year. Proof is required by presenting a Teudat Oleh or an equivalent document. Those exercising this right will be moved at the beginning of the exam to a special class dedicated to students having extra time (we will publish the exact class number soon). This announcement overrides ANY other prior announcement on this subject. Please note that a copy of Teudat Oleh or an equivalent document MUST be presented at the exam time. The course staff. |

Dear students, Few issues regarding HW6: 1. As we decided to drop backtracking from the course material this semester, we also removed question 4 from HW6, as it was dealing with backtracking. Instead there is a new question 4 in HW6 that deals with advanced recursion. Updated HW6 is available. No change in the submission date. 2. Submission date for HW6 is still Sunday 9/7. However, for those who submit it until Thursday 6/7 15:00 we will return the graded HW before the exam. Dear students, Apparently there were cases of cheating in HW2. Both the cheaters and those who let the cheaters copy their solutions got 0 grade and are requested to come to Roostam during his office hours to handle the situation. We warn you again not to cheat. Fruitful discussions regarding possible HW solutions are legitimate and positive, while copying the existing solutions is strictly prohibited and handled with care. Clarification regarding HW3-Q4

Dear students, There is a clarification about question 4 in Home assignment 3: 1. Note that the number "00000235" is a legal number. However, an input such as "235" is not legal! 2. When the number "123456789" is entered, you can either print an error message (since you need 8 digits and this number has 9), or ignore the extra digits (in this case, read it as if the number "12345678" was entered). The Sfat C Sfat M Project
|
The Sfat C Sfat M project is a project that tries to help students that encounter programming and C for the first time. During the semester, the project's tutors are stationed in several computer farms on campus, and help students that experience problems with their programming assignments. The guidance is given free of charge. The tutors will NOT solve your homework for you, but will provide help & guidance if you're stuck or having difficulties with the C syntax. The tutors will be located in these farms: Taub, Fishbach, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Ullman. Look for the project's special shirts (labeled "Sfat C Sfat M") in the farms. The project's schedule can be found at: http://www.asat.org.il/sfatc (the page is updated weekly) and also in ASAT's forums - http://forums.asat.org.il. |
