סטודנטים יקרים, בשעה טובה התבשרנו על סיום השביתה. מצבנו בקורס טוב יחסית לשאר הקורסים כיון שבשבוע הראשון של השביתה יום א היה במתכונת יום ה ולכן הפסדנו רק 2 שיעורים. בלו"ז המקורי של הקורס השבוע האחרון תוכנן להיות העשרה שלא היה אמור להיכלל בחומר המבחן. אני חושב שכאלו שיעורים חשובים אך אנו נאלץ לוותר עליו. כמו כן, תכננו ללמד שיעור אחד על למידה מחיזוקים שאותו נוריד מחומר הלימוד. על כן לא נדרש לשיעורי השלמה. Dear students, The strike is officially over and we are back in learning mode. We are relatively in a good place - we lost only two lectures. We will remove one lecture from the course material (Reinforcement Learning) and will use the last lecture to teach course material instead of enrichment material that was originally planned. Thus, we will not need any makeup classes. |

התרגולים מתקיימים כרגיל | |

סטודנטים יקרים, התרגולים השבוע ושבוע הבא בנושא MDP יתקיימו כמתוכנן שכן החומר נלמד בהרצאה. אנו מצטערים על חוסר הוודאות ונעדכן לגבי שינויים כשיהיה מידע חדש לגבי השביתה. בברכה, צוות הקורס. עדכון לגבי השביתב | |
|
מבחינת מהות השביתה: בקצרה, שכר חברי הסגל לא עודכן ב3.5 שנים האחרונות, והשביתה היא על תיקון השחיקה בשכר. השביתה היא של הסגל הבכיר, ולא של המתרגלים. כלומר - ההרצאות לא מתקיימות, והתרגולים כן מתקיימים ולכן המתרגלים נאלצים לעבור על חומר שהסטודנטים לא למדו. לצערי - זו מהותה של שביתה. היא פוגעת באנשים שלא אחראים לסיבה לשביתה, אבל יכולים להפעיל לחץ על מי שכן קשורים למשא ומתן. כאשר תסתיים השביתה, נבחן מהי הדרך האופטימלית לגשר על הפערים שיווצרו כתוצאה ממנה. בתקווה לסיום מהיר של השביתה אורן |

As I mentioned in class today, there is an exciting talk at the Technion's robotic seminar this Tuesday at 14:30 in Room 337, The Taub Faculty of Computer Science,. See details below, Oren Title: From snapping fixtures to multi-robot coordination: Geometry at the service of robotics Speaker: Dan Halperin, School of Computer Science, Tel Aviv University Abstract: Robots sense, move and act in the physical world. It is therefore natural that understanding the geometry of the problem at hand is often key to devising an effective robotic solution. I will review several problems in robotics and automation in whose solution geometry plays a major role. These include designing optimized 3D printable fixtures, object rearrangement by robot arm manipulators, and efficient coordination of the motion of large teams of robots. As we shall see, exploiting geometric structure can, among other benefits, lead to reducing the dimensionality of the underlying search space and in turn to efficient solutions. |

Update to slides | |

Hi guys, In the slides on heuristic search we made some small corrections: (1) In slides 13 we compare the updated node to existing nodes using f-values and not g-values. This makes no difference to A* but makes the generalization we talked about when using wA* correct. Specifically, when using w=infinity, we stated that wA* is identical to GBFS. This is only true using the upated slide. (2) We updated the pseudo code of IDA* (slide 39) since we missed a slide. Best, Oren |
