Following the recent events, there is no access to CsComp. Therefore, those who want to resubmit Homework 5 and have trouble checking their submission are welcome to send an email to Elad and we will try to solve the problem. We will try to ignore problems that arise from not having access to CsComp. The resubmission is still until 28.2. |

Moed A Scans and Appeal | |

Hello, As many of you have already noticed, Moed A scans can now be viewed through a dedicated website at this address: https://exams-scans.technion.ac.il/ Unfortunately, Ullman refused to scan the multiple-choice answer sheet, and there is nothing we can do about this. We are confident that no mistakes were made grading the multiple-choice answers (automatic grading), but if there's a specific problem you would like to address please send an e-mail to Matan. Appeals for Moed A can now be submitted through the website, the deadline for appealing is the 28th of February (one week from today.) We currently do not have access to your scans, so please include them with your appeal. The website is set up to accept zip files with two PDF files, one for your scan and the other for the appeal. Guidelines for appealing:
If the issue with your exam is that the points were summed incorrectly, send an e-mail to Matan (mip@cs) instead. You can then additionally appeal for anything else. "Cyber Cyber", - Course Staff |

Moed A Grades Are Published | |

Hello all, Now that WebCourse is back online (thanks to Prof. Eli Biham and the IT team), we have published the final grades, including the homework. Scanned exams are not yet available, and we have already sent the checked exams to Ullman for scanning. We'll check with Ullman during the beginning of next week and see if we can get the exams back or maybe even PDFs that we can upload to the course website. A general strike of the senior staff nationwide has been announced this morning and as a result, we are prevented from holding office hours. Shachar's office hours today (14:30) are canceled. We are aware of the bad timing with the exam next week, but understand that there is no choice in the matter. A union is a union. HW2 grades and resubmission policy | |
|
Homework 2 grades are published and the feedback is available in the usual place on the website. This is an optional assignment, so there is no resubmission for HW2. The resubmission policy states that you may only resubmit HW1 and HW3 only if you pass all the tests supplied with the assignment, that is, if you pass the provided selfcheck script. However, since the grades for HW1 and HW2 were published after the deadline for HW3, we are relaxing this policy in certain cases: If you received a 0 for either HW1 or HW2 as well as HW3 due to failing the selfcheck, you may still resubmit HW3. This is under the assumption that if you would have received the grade earlier, before the HW3 deadline, you would not have made the same mistake again. |

This was done since this homework is very important, as even though it is מגן and not תקף, it is the only exercise that is in the style of the exam questions. Lecture reschedule for the *last lecture* of this course | |

In order for all the groups to have a recitation after the last lecture, and since the exam is right there on the first week of exams, we have made the following date change: Instead of the lecture on Mon 23/1, we will have the last lecture on Wed 18/1 at 12:30-14:30. (this time slot should be free for everybody.) Notice: this means that on that week there will be two lectures, the regular one on Mon 16/1 and the rescheduled one on Wed 18/1. Will be fun. |

Update on Matan's Tutorial Yesterday | |

Hello, My tutorial yesterday was not held due to personal reasons. I deeply apologize for not announcing this in advance; this is not something that will happen again. As an alternative for those students affected by this, you can watch Eytan's recording of tutorial 4 from a couple years ago. One notable omission from the recording is slide 39 from the presentation available in the course website. That slide teaches that you can pass "-Wcounterexamples" to Bison to have it produce examples of inputs that trigger the conflict when it detects a conflict, which can hopefully help you understand the cause of the conflict and how to fix the grammar. This is very useful for assignments 2 and 3. The slide is missing from the recording because it is actually a new feature of Bison 3.7 which was only released a few months before the semester started, so we didn't have time to upgrade to it. Please feel free to ask any questions regarding this material using either Piazza or e-mail. - Matan |

Due to the elections, Tuesday's group is one week behind and wouldn't get to the Bison tutorial in time for the homework. Therefore, Tomer will have a make-up tutorial tomorrow during צהרי יום ד'.
