Dear Prospective students, In the coming semester (Spring 2006) we will be offering a new course called "Analysis of non-rigid surfaces" (236611, "advanced topics in CS"). The course will deal with modern methods of analysis of non-rigid surfaces, an important and fascinating emerging field bringing together different disciplines of mathematics and computer science. We will give theoretical and numerical tools for the analysis and comparison of surfaces from the perspective of the recent advances in the field. 1. Submit the MATLAB code by email, umbronatcs.technion.ac.il. Please make sure the code runs well. Those who do not have MATLAB 7 may use earlier versions. 2. In Q3 (MATLAB) plot the 3D curve (use plot3) and at every point, plot the local system of coordinates (T,N,B) as small arrows (use quiver3) 3. Note the submission deadline: 23/11 ! 4. There will be no home assignment for the next week, you will get a homework on surfaces after the fourth tutorial (when we finish differential geometry) |
