Dry HW1 - Preparing for the course
Dear students, Dry assignment 1 (out of 4) is now available. It is due by 30.04.2026 at 23:59. The assignment will help you prepare for the course, both programmatically (in Python) and mathematically (probability, linear algebra, and calculus). This preparation is very important for the rest of the course. Note that the assignment seems longer than it actually is. During the course we will use a Piazza forum for questions and discussions on the assignments, lectures, and tutorials. Please register at: https://piazza.com/technion.ac.il/spring2026/02360766 Wishing you all a great semester! |

Welcome to Introduction to ML!
Dear students, We are excited to begin the course! 1. The Probability and Numerical Algorithms prerequisites will be enforced at the beginning of the semester. If you don't have the prerequisite you will be removed from the course without prior warning. 2. Lectures: All lectures will be held via Zoom until further notice (as per the Technion regulations). The link can be found under the "Staff" section. 3. Tutorials: All tutorials will be held via Zoom until further notice (as per the Technion regulations). The link is the same one we use for reception hours (keep reading). 4. Recordings: While teaching remotely, all lectures and tutorials will be recorded and made available to you. Once we return to campus, we will stop recording. We provided links to lecture and tutorial recordings from previous semesters, yet caution is advised as they are outdated. The obligating material for the assignments and the exams is the one we will teach during the *current* semester, as our course is always evolving and susceptible to constant change. Note: We do not bear responsibility for any technical issues related to the recordings. 5. Written correspondence will be held only using the course email at u236756MLatgmail.com 6. The course is not based on a single book. We do offer some references to prominent literature in the syllabus, and we may refer to relevant chapters as the course progresses. 7. Course grading and assignments: - 74% exam (55+ to pass). - 3 wet programming assignments: 18% of final grade (mandatory, submitted in pairs only). - 4 dry assignments: 8% of final grade (mandatory, submitted individually). - See the syllabus for full details. 8. Students repeating the course: Can migrate the wet assignments' grades from the previous semester, but *must* redo the updated dry assignments. 9. We will hold two weekly office hours on Sunday and Thursday via Zoom at 16:30-17:20. The link is provided in the "Course Material" section. 10. For questions and discussions on assignments, lecture, tutorials, etc. we have a piazza channel: https://piazza.com/technion.ac.il/spring2026/02360766 Good luck, Nir, Arkadi, Amit, Lotan, and Bana |
