הוצאה לאור: Published by: Издательство: دار نشر: | Prentice Hall PTR; ASIN: 0130839639;1st edition (March 3, 1999) |
This book is not yet another introduction to CORBA. It is intended for more or less experienced CORBA programmers, and its goal is to provide guidelines for building large-scale, enterprise-class CORBA systems. Discusses performance considerations, transactions in a CORBA environment, scalability, load balancing, fault-tolerance and other issues highly relevant to our course. High-level written but not an easy reading.

הוצאה לאור: Published by: Издательство: دار نشر: | John Wiley & Sons; ASIN: 0471247650;2nd edition (February 1998) |
Covers a lot, but not all of the topic. Contains a lot of code examples and very good explanations. Achieves good in-depth coverage without being too verbose. Can serve as a reference. Abstract: With this book, Java developers can quickly learn how to create CORBA- based business applications that interact with objects located anywhere on a network or the Internet, regardless of differences in operating systems or languages. This second edition offers an introduction to programming with Java ORBS and a solutions guide with detailed examples and design patterns for Internet-based distributed systems. It also provides exanded coverage of: CORBA 2.1; Java IDL; features such as DII, DSI, and ANY; CORBA services for naming, trading, events, and security; and CORBA Beans. All examples are written using the Visigenic Visibroker ORB, but the techniques shown will work with any ORB.

Client/Server Programming with Java & Corba

הוצאה לאור: Published by: Издательство: دار نشر: | John Wiley & Sons 1998 |
Relatively updated and the most expansive book on the subject. 832 pages, tends to be too verbose. You have to debug the examples before you will be able to get them run. Abstract: This second edition is for the seasoned Java programmer or distributed objects expert. It provides developers with the expertise to combine Java and CORBA into workable client/server solutions for the Object Web. New features of this edition include: chapters on JavaBeans, CORBA Beans, and Enterprise JavaBeans, with information on tools such as Visual Cafe, JBuilder, and Visual Age for Java; ORB programming in areas such as CORBA 3.0's POA, Object Pass-by-Value, IDL-to-Java, and RMI-to-IIOP; use of tutorials and client/server benchmarks to compare CORBA to Java/RMI, Java/DCOM, Sockets, HTTP/CGI, and Servlets. It also provides a JavaBeans version of Club Med -- a Web-based, 3-tier client/server application that uses CORBA, Java, and JDBC. A CD-ROM is enclosed containing more than 16 Java-based client/server applications.

Advanced CORBA(R) Programming with C++
מחבר: Author: Автор: مؤلف: | Michi Henning, Steve Vinoski |
הוצאה לאור: Published by: Издательство: دار نشر: | Addison-Wesley Pub Co;1st edition (February 17, 1999) |
Ultimatively, the best and the most updated technical book on advanced CORBA programming so far. Leaves very few topics uncovered. They say this book to CORBA is what Stevens to TCP/IP. The authors are world-famous consultants in the field who know the standard long before it is officially published. The book explains both CORBA concepts and technical issues of programming with C++. It is also highly recommended for people who already know the basics of CORBA programming with Java.

Corba Distributed Objects: Using Orbix
מחבר: Author: Автор: مؤلف: | Sean Baker |
הוצאה לאור: Published by: Издательство: دار نشر: | Addison-Wesley Pub Co;1st edition (June 26, 1997) |
One of the best books describing CORBA programming with C++, but also valuable for Java programming. Contains relatively few stuff specific for Orbix and can be used for any ORB. Probably the only book on CORBA that manages to be concise, laconic and clear at the same time. Very well organized, but lacks description of some services.
