HW2 requirements change
|
Dear Students, Although we have been gradually resolving the issues encountered with the HW2 submission process, we have decided to simplify the assignment requirements to provide clearer and more predictable submission instructions. We apologize for canceling the code review component, but this change is intended to reduce complexity and workload on your side. This also helps you to free up time and focus, as the next assignment (HW3) will be more demanding. The requirement to work with the KDLP site and container, submit pull requests, and participate in code reviews is hereby *withdrawn*. Instead, you are required to submit all the files you have created as a single ZIP file via the WebCourse (this) site. Still your work needs to be compiled and run as expected, on the faculty’s VDI system as this is where it is going to be checked. Please include the following files in your submission: - README - Makefile - simple_container.c - Any additional *.c and *.h files you created, if any The ZIP file must be named using the IDs of the two partners submitting the assignment, in the following format: ID1_ID2.zip The submission deadline is the original final submission deadline: EOD, Tuesday, December 30, 2025. The HW2 description in PDF, can now be found in the “Assignment” section, in case you need it, so you are not stopped with the KDLP website failure. Good luck, and thank you for your understanding. VDI system update (a message from faculty systems administrator)

Today (17/12/2025) there will be regular VDI platform update. So, from 16:00-19:00, if students are connected during this time via Horicon Client, the session will be broken, and they can't reconnect for 5-15 minutes. After this, they will be able to reconnect and continue working where they disconnected. This process does not affect internal VM processes. If they connected via ssh - they will not see any changes, all processes inside VM will work as usual without any restarts or breaks. |

Clarification regarding registration via https://winter2025-iit.actc.underground.software/register

As we had couple of questions, here we publish clarification for everyone. If you have already registered, disregard this message. Let’s say we have a pair of imaginary students submitting the HW2 together Boris Odnopozov with ID 123456 Anastasia Braginsky with ID 908765 Boris filled the Pairs' Google Form registering himself first and Anastasia as a partner. Thus their combined Student ID is going to be “123456_908765” and their username is going to be “Odnopozov_Braginsky”. (If you do not remember who was first, try two combinations.) So on https://winter2025-iit.actc.underground.software/register they need to enter 123456_908765 The website will then give them their username and password. Their username is "Odnopozov_Braginsky" and their password will be shown to them only one time when they submit the registration form with their student ID. |

Preparing for HW2

Dear students, As we have successfully finished with HW1 last week, we are looking forward extremely interesting and educative HW2, which is going to be published this Monday, December 8th. You will need all the time provided for the HW2, so please start working on HW2 as soon as it is going to be published. In the meanwhile we need to know the pairs of students, so we can provide you the accounts and accesses to all the hardware and other resources prepared especially for you for HWs 2 and 3. Do you remember that we asked you to form pairs by December 1st? Only work in pairs is allowed. Dear Students, Since the course lab hours are limited in number, and you might need them also after HW1 is submitted; please repeat the video tutorial on proper lab usage, so you won't exhaust the lab hours before finishing the course exercises. HW1 deadline is firm

Hello everyone, We want to remind you that HW1 (DO188) deadline is December 1st midnight Israeli time. We cannot prolong it technically. Please make an effort to make a progress now, instead of asking for prolongation couple of days before the deadline. However, we hope you still go through the course meaningfully and learn well how to use containers. Other assignments will require all your coding skills and will not be like this DevOps style.
