Now you should be able to SSH into your VM from the host machine. Follow these steps: Start your VM if you haven't already by running: `virsh start ubuntu-24-cloneX` (Replace X with your specific clone number) Find your VM's IP address by running: `sudo virsh net-dhcp-leases default` Connect to the danger63 server first (if you're not already connected) From danger63, SSH into your VM using: `ssh ubuntu@VM_IP_ADDRESS` (Use the IP address you found in step 2) Using SSH will provide a much better experience than the serial console (which you get using `virsh console`), with improved text formatting and responsiveness. |

VM Access Instructions for Homework Assignments | |

We have set up individual VMs (Virtual Machines) for your homework assignments this semester. Below are instructions for accessing and using your VM: ## Prerequisites - You must either be connected to the Technion network OR using SASE for remote access - You need your personal username and password (sent by Tomer) - You need your assigned VM name and VM password (sent by Nadav) ## Connection Steps ### Step 1: Connect to the Lab Server ``` ssh [your_username]@danger63.cslcs.technion.ac.il ``` Use the password provided by Tomer when prompted. ### Step 2: Access Your VM Once connected to the server, start/connect to your VM using the virsh command: ``` virsh console [your_vm_name] ``` Use the VM name that was assigned to you by Nadav. ### Step 3: Log into Your VM When prompted, log in with: - Username: `ubuntu` - Password: The one sent to you by Nadav ## Important Notes - Please shutdown your VM when you're finished working either: - From within the VM using shutdown commands, OR - Using the `virsh shutdown [your_vm_name]` - This is the first semester we're using this lab server setup, so please report any issues you encounter If you have any questions or technical difficulties, please contact me. Based on the survey responses, it seems that the course will be conducted in Hebrew—both the lectures and the exam. We will confirm this again in the first session, but from the (limited) number of responses received, this appears to be the case. That said, homework and other communications (like this message) may continue to be in English. |

In the previous semester (spring'24) students requested that this course would be given in English to fulfill academic requirements. This has not been communicated well this semester. I am willing to deliver the course in either English or Hebrew and would request to know your preference on the matter. [Regardless: homework and slides anyhow would be in English.
