Is attendance mandatory ? | |
| Attendance in this course is not mandatory, and will not be checked. If you choose not to attend lectures or tutorials, it is your responsibility to study the material by yourself, and keep updated with everything mentioned and said in class. |
Can I attend tutorials and lecture groups for which I am not registered? | |
| Yes. It does not matter which tutorial or lecture you are registered to, you are allowed to attend the classes which best suit your preferences. We will not enforce people to attend their registered groups unless there is overcrowding in a class or another has become empty. |
Are there any recommended textbooks ? | |

Our course generally follows the tutorial and lecture slides posted on this website. There are also a few good textbooks which can help you study C. See the Literature section for details. The main book for this course, for beginners to C is called "A Book on C" (see the literature section in this website). This is a tutorial on C, from scratch to a high level. This book can be found in Michlol and in the dean's library. Note that the book covers the material of the first ~8 weeks only; there is no one recommended book for the rest of the course. |

Which of the courses should I take if I am repeating the course? | |

You are allowed to repeat this course, thereby erasing the old grade. However, you must repeat the same course that you have taken. If you studied 234117 in the past, you MUST take 234117. If you studied 234114 in the past, you MUST take 234114. |
Is there any difference between the 234114 and the 234117 courses? | |
| No. Both courses have the same staff, same lecture slides, same home assignments and same exams. For bureaucratic reasons we ask the students of each course to submit their home assignments to their course assignments box. |
Why should I sign to the course 234114 mail list if I took 234117? | |
