Should negative numbers and numbers with leading zeros (e.g. 000347) be dealt with?
It can be assumed that no such numbers are entered as input. |
How should I handle an EOF in read_long_number()?
Your program should correctly handle input of the type <num1>c1<num2>c2 where c1 and c2 are non-digit characters. The EOF comment in the exercise definition is there to encourage using input redirection for testing, namely to read the input from a file instead of writing long numbers each time. EOF is not a digit, so if you handle input of the above format correctly, you're ok. You can assume that c1!=EOF. |
