Project presentations tomorrow
Hi all,

The presentations will take place tomorrow (Tuesday) in seminar room 601 (on the 6th floor) at 16:00. Please come prepared with your PPT presentations on a disk-on-key. If your presentation has any specific technical requirements, please let us know in advance.

Try to keep things short and clear.

Good Luck,

Shlomo, Irad and Ilan.

Project Presentations
Hi all,

A date has been set for project presentations. They will be held on Tuesday, March 17 between 16:00 and 17:30. We will announce on the place in time.

Each presentation should take about 15 minutes, so make sure to summarize your accomplishments accordingly. You should include a brief description of the major research question(s) you dealt with, your results and conslusions. The main emphasis should be on the "result" part (no need to mention the benchmark). Try to describe your results with few clear graphs which emphasize the main points.

Since there are probably several things you will not be able to finish by the time of the presentation, you can mention a short list of things you intend to do before submitting the project (hopefully, there are not too much of those :-)).

We stronglay encourage you to start working on the presentation soon, because this preparation takes some time, and a significant part of your grade depends on it.

If you have a critical problem with the time set for the presentation, please let us know as soon as possible (in the next 3 days), so that we could check an alternative time.

Good Luck,

Irad, Shlomo and Ilan.

Project guidelines and benchmarks
Hello all,

I updated the 'course material' section in the website and it now contains some guidelines for each project and a benchmark as well.

The purpose of the benchmarks is to test your experimental setup and to make sure it works fine before we proceed to the 'real tasks'.

Make sure to have the benchmarks ready for our next meeting.

Note that there is quite a lot of work for this 'leg' of the project, so plan your time accordingly.

Good luck, and let me know if you have any questions on the way.

Background material and end-date for projects
Hello all,

We put on the course site (under "course material") a draft of a paper containing background material for the projects (all three of them). Please make sure to bring a copy to your meeting with Ilan this week. In the meeting you will be given guidelines on which sections to focus on in your reading.

Also a tentative date is set for the termination of all projects. The final presentations will be given during the first week of spring semester (March 15-19, 2009).

Good luck to all,

--course staff

Project selection
Hi all,

We remind you that today (Thursday, 11.12) is the deadline for submitting your project preferences. Please send Ilan your first and second choice today. Also list in your e-mail three options for meeting times next week (30-45 minutes).

Students who will not send us their preferences by later today will not be able to register to the course.

Good luck,
