You may note that the exam grades were very low, so we only used them to determine the relative order of grades.

| HW4 and reception hours | Hi all,
HW4 is checked and graded. The hard copies will be available tomorrow in the return boxes on the entrance floor.
The exam will take place on Thursday, 15.5.08, 9:00 in Taub 9. It will be a 'closed material' exam (no external material allowed).
I will hold special reception hours for the exam tomorrow at 13:30.

| Make-up tutorial | Hi all,
Next week is the last week of the semester, and we have 2 tutorials left. There are 3 options for scheduling the make-up tutorial:
1. Next Thursday (10.4) at 10:30 (after the original tutorial).
2. Next Thursday (10.4) at 8:30 (before the original tutorial).
3. Some other time (like Sunday, 13.4 at 10:30).
These options appear in their preference order.
Let me know (tomorrow during the tutorial, or by mail) if you have any problem with any of the first 2 options.

| Classes next week + clarification regarding HW1 | Hi all,
Next week there will be no lecture on Wednesday. We think of using this extra time to close the gap created between lectures and tutorials. So we will use one hour of the lecture (10:30-11:20) for an extra tutorial. On Thursday there will be a tutorial as ususal. Let us (i.e. Ilan) know if this poses a problem.
Regarding HW1, in question 4 we mention a "one-tape Turing machine". Recall that such a machine has to use its input tape as a "working" tape as well.

We urge you to read carefully the guidelines for writing and submitting exercises in the course (under "assignments" section as well).
Note that this exercise can be submitted in pairs (we actually encourage you to do so at this point). However, you may be asked to submit future exercises individually (BODEDIM). We will further clarify this when time comes.

| Tutorial this week | Hello all,
This Thursday, 14.2.08, tutorials will resume as usual. The first tutorial will start 30 minutes earlier, in 9:00 (rather than 9:30). The first 30 minutes will be dedicated to "refreshing" some material from the tutorials given in the beginning of the original semester (a long long time ago). On 9:30 we will start the material for the next tutorial in line.

| Tomorrow's tutorial | Hi all,
I fixed the handout from last tutorial (the formula for the number of configurations was not tight). The fixed version appears under 'course material' section.
Tomorrow we will complete the proof of the translational lemma (I'KRON HA'NIPUAH), with some additional examples. After that we will cover additional introductory material for the course.
As of next week, however, tutorials will be suspended until the strike is finished.
