| Simplifying Assumption for Question 2c in Dry 2 | To simplify the solutions you give to question 2c, you may assume that for every height h, there are at most 2 trees of height h.
The question is solvable without this assumption, but as we've already indicated, we are aware the Student Day is coming up :-)

For the second dry assignment, this means the due date is 22/5, 14:00 (instead of the 20/5). For future assignments' deadlines, see course schedule.

| Complementary Lessons Next Week | As announced yesterday, Monday's groups (Matan and Mira's groups) will hold complementary lessons next week to make up for today's missed lesson.

Mira's Group (Monday 15:30): Mira will hold recitation 7 on Wednesday 2/5, 13:30-14:30, @Taub 6.

| Complementary lessons during the semester | To keep the lectures and relevant tutorials close together throughout the semester, we will be holding a few complementary lessons during the semester. As an added bonus this will allow us to cover all the material and finish the semester one week before the exam period.
The complementary lessons next week (to make up for this Monday's missed lessons due to Matkonet Yom Hey):
Matan's group (Monday 10:30-11:30) will hold tutorial 6 next Sunday (29/4) at 16:30-17:30 (classroom TBD).
Mira's group (Monday 15:30-16:30) will hold tutorial 7 next Wednesday (2/5) at 13:30-14:30 (classroom TBD).
Complementary lessons later during the semester:
David's group will hold a similar complementary lesson later during the semester, to catch up the lesson missed due to Shavuot.
On Tuesday 15.5, which is Matkonet Yom Hey, we will hold lecture 9 at 16:30-18:30 @ Taub 2. This lecture is for students of both lecture groups.
Students who cannot make it to their group's complementary lesson should either attend another lesson covering the same material or use the video server.

| Wet 1 assignment is online (but not published) | We've uploaded the first wet assignment to the course website, for those of you who want to start thinking about a solution.
The assignment will be officially published after Passover break, on 15/04.
Due date: 06/05, 23:30.
The TA in charge of this assignment is Erez.
All questions about the assignment should be directed to him.
An FAQ section will be opened for the assignment. Make sure you check it from time to time, as explanations and guidelines will be published there.
We will also hold a 2-hour tips session on Wednesday, 04/04 at Sego 1.
We recommend you read the assignment and start thinking of a solution before this session.

While we have high expectations of Technion students, we do not expect any of you to submit HW in the past... The due date for assignment 1 is 15/04/2012, as announced in the course site.

| Welcome to Data Structures 1! (234218) | This is the first official mail from the "Data Structures 1" (234218) course staff.
Each student registered to the course should get this mail. Those who didn't get it, are probably not registered, or are not on the mailing list. So, if you know about friends who are taking this course and did not get this mail, please inform them to register through the "Auto update" feature appearing at the homepage.
The course announcements, notifications, changes etc. will be published on the web and through this mailing list. It's your responsibility to be updated and to check from time to time for new information posted on the web.
All the information you need appears at the course website at: http://webcourse.cs.technion.ac.il/234218.
Specifically, please make sure you read the course guidelines that appear in the "Information Sheet" file under the syllabus tab. Also, read the course schedule under the syllabus tab, which will specifiy the material taught in each week, along with the submission dates of each homework assignment.
The lectures and recitations slides can be downloaded and printed from the site (under "Course material") or obtained as a booklet at Beit Hastudent.
We recommend that you bring a printout of the slides to every lesson.
Additional service that the course home page suggests is partner finding.
Our office hours will be updated soon under the "Staff" tab. Try to fit yourselves to those office hours, or contact us by email. We will be happy to answer your questions and help you with this course during the semester.
Assuming (perhaps "wishing"?) that the semester starts as planned, the recitations will be held starting the first day of the semester (that is: Sunday 11/03).
